With vape shops are popping up all over the country, how do you know which one to choose? How do you know which one is trustworthy? The cost of vaping equipment, accessories, and e-juices can add up rather quickly, especially for newbies first entering into this strange, new world. No one likes being ripped off! So here is a short list of 5 things to look for that will make your purchasing experience a great deal more enjoyable.
1. They have an e-juice bar.
The more reputable vape shops will gladly offer free samples of their e-juices. Customers can get a little taste of several different blends right there in the shop without having to fork over a ton of loot, cross their fingers, and hope that the e-juices live up to their colorful bottle descriptions.
2. They offer lots of mods and accessories.
When a vape shop offers a wide variety of mods and accessories, this usually means that they are more reputable and more serious about vaping, in general. If only a few mods are on display, ask to see more. If the sales rep says, “That’s all we have,” then you might want to look elsewhere. Vapers do not live by e-juice alone.
3. The employees vape.
If you find that the employees of the vape shop cannot adequately answer your questions, then you might look for a new shop. Worse yet, if the employee states outright, “I don’t vape. I just work here,” run for the hills! Vaping is serious business. E-juices, vaping devices, mods, and even the political landscape is constantly changing. You want a vape shop with an experienced staff that knows the 411!
4. They don’t sell tobacco products.
E-cigs and vape pens were essentially designed to get people off nicotine and tobacco, not to use them simultaneously. If the vape shop is “branching out” into tobacco and other unrelated products, then chances are the management is not very business-savvy. This may be a red flag that the vape shop is a fly-by-night operation and in danger of closing its doors permanently.
5. They are on Yelp.
If the vape shop is not on Yelp, move on. And if the vape shop has tons of terrible customer reviews, move on even faster. Remember, Facebook “likes” can be bought. Yelp is considered much more authoritative.
This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t try out the new vape shop around the corner. It can be a lot of fun to locate the next vaping hot spot in the city. But this list of 5 simple things to look for should help you weed out the good from the bad.
